A Swiss hotelier's house, since the 1880s
The hotel gives 1885 as its year. The city's register of historic businesses says that the Swiss hotelier Giacomo Mosca founded it on 28 June 1883. The building on the corner of Via dei Pescioni and Via degli Strozzi was put up for it in 1894 and 1895, and the Mosca family kept the hotel for almost a century.
It was sold in 1987, restored for two years and reopened in 1989. Starhotels bought it in 2016, redid the interiors and, in 2019 and 2020, extended it into the former bank next door.
