Every window has its red awning and every balcony its red geraniums, hundreds of them. It is one of the most photographed hotel fronts in the world.
The Dior spa
The Dior Institut, opened in 2008, with treatment rooms, a sauna and a steam room. The couturier presented his first collection a few doors away in 1947.

A century of couture
The Plaza Athénée opened on 20 April 1913, the same season as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées next door, and drew the composers and performers who worked there. It stayed open through the First World War.
After 1946, when Christian Dior set up his house on the avenue, the hotel became part of the life of fashion. Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton lived in it for six months in 1971.
It belongs to the Dorchester Collection, was enlarged and renovated in 2014, and has held the Palace distinction since 2012.
