Why Disneyland Paris is worth it

Disneyland Paris opened on 12 April 1992 at Marne-la-Vallée, about 32 kilometres east of the city. It was called Euro Disney for its first two years. Around fifteen million people now come every year, which makes it the most visited theme park in Europe.

There are two parks side by side. Disneyland Park is the classic one, built around the Sleeping Beauty Castle, with the rides everyone knows. The second park was renamed Disney Adventure World in March 2026, when a new land based on Frozen opened in it.

One day is enough for one park, done properly. Two parks in a day is possible and exhausting. The station is at the gates, so there is no need to stay out there: Paris is forty minutes away.

    What to see

    1. Disneyland Park

The castle, the parades, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a Small World. If you have one day and young children, this is the park.

    2. Disney Adventure World

The second park, with the Marvel and Pixar rides and, since March 2026, World of Frozen. Better for older children and teenagers.

    3. The night show

The day ends with lights, fountains and fireworks on the castle. Find a place in front of it half an hour before.

    4. Disney Village

The shops and restaurants between the parks and the station, free to enter, open after the parks close.

    How to do it well

    • Take the RER A, in the direction of Marne-la-Vallée Chessy, to the end of the line. It runs from Châtelet, Auber and Charles de Gaulle-Étoile, and the station is at the park gates.
    • Buy a dated ticket in advance. Tickets cost less on quiet days, and some days sell out.
    • Be at the gates before they open, and go to the far end of the park first. The queues build from the entrance outwards.
    • Avoid French school holidays and weekends if you can. A Tuesday in term time is a different place.
    • Use the park's app for waiting times, and bring water and something to eat. The food inside is slow and dear.
