What sets Hôtel Regina Louvre apart
The square
The Place des Pyramides opens off the rue de Rivoli, opposite the Tuileries. Rooms on the front look over the garden and the Louvre. The entrance to the museum is a few minutes along the arcades.
The interiors of 1900
The hotel has kept its Art Nouveau decoration: the woodwork, the stained glass and the furniture of the year it opened.
A film set
More than a hundred films have been shot in the hotel since 1980, among them Nikita, The Bourne Identity and Red 2.
A family's hotel
It still belongs to the descendants of one of the two men who built it, which is rare among the large hotels of Paris.

Built for the Exhibition of 1900
Léonard Tauber and Constant Baverez built the hotel between 1898 and 1900, in time for the Universal Exhibition, and opened it on 1 March 1900. It was named in honour of Queen Victoria, at a time when France and Britain were drawing closer.
In 1919 the League of Red Cross Societies, now the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, was founded in the hotel. A plaque on the building records it.
The same two men went on to build the Majestic, which is now The Peninsula Paris, and the Hôtel Raphael. The Regina and the Raphael still belong to the Baverez family.
