Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort
When the Lido became a beach resort, Nicolò Spada built it a hotel to match: a Moorish palace of domes and towers on the sand, opened in July 1908. In 1932 the first Venice Film Festival showed its films on its terrace.
