Hotel Londra Palace
The railway to the mainland brought visitors to Venice in numbers, and in 1853 the Hotel d'Angleterre opened on the Riva degli Schiavoni to receive them. Tchaikovsky stayed next door in 1877, in a house now part of the hotel, and worked there on his Fourth Symphony.
