A hotel, a library, a hotel
The Hotel Palazzo opened in 1905. A second building, the Hotel degli Ambasciatori, opened beside it in 1927, and the two were soon run as one. In 1946 the older building was sold to the government of the United States and became the library of its embassy.
It was sold back in 1993. After a long renovation it reopened on 15 May 2023 as the InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace.
