The English hotel of Rome
The building went up in 1887 as a block of flats, to the design of Francesco Settimi. Francesco Nistelweck bought it and opened it as a hotel in 1889. It was at once popular with British travellers, and was known as an English hotel.
It is now part of the Dorchester Collection, one of two hotels the group has in Italy.
