The hotel of the Parliament
By the middle of the nineteenth century the building was an elegant hotel called the Scudo di Francia. Its best years came between 1865 and 1871, when Florence was the capital and the hotel, close to the seats of government, became known as the Albergo del Parlamento.
When the capital moved to Rome it went into a long, slow decline. It was restored in the late 1980s, bought by the Duetorrihotels group in 2010 and thoroughly restored again the year after.
