The pool
A swimming pool lit by lanterns in the basement, under the frame of a wood and bamboo farmhouse 250 years old, taken apart in Japan and rebuilt here by Japanese carpenters.
Eighty-eight different rooms
Each is furnished on its own, with old rugs, leather and books. The bathrooms are in Moroccan tile or Carrara marble.
The courtyard and the drawing room
A garden court and a sitting room with a fire, kept for those staying in the hotel.
Tribeca
The 9/11 Memorial is fifteen minutes' walk south and the Hudson River park two blocks west. The Whitney and the High Line are a short ride up the river.
