From the Calle de Jacometrezo to the Puerta del Sol
The first Mallorquina was in the Calle de Jacometrezo. Its owners, Balaguer, Coll and Ripoll, bought a café and tea room on the Puerta del Sol, and when the square was rebuilt they opened the shop on its present corner in 1894.
It sold pastries, cold meats and bottles, with a salon inside for gatherings and afternoon chocolate, and has stayed a meeting place of the city.
